1313 WALTER de BUSHBY,
(23)
(Innholder).
Presumably a son of Henry and Amicia de Bushby of Leic., living 1310, and born about 1275. He was bailiff during his mayoralty and for several subsequent years, and M.P. for the borough 1323 and 1343. In 1322 he granted two messuages in Leic. to his daughter Elena. His name disappears from the local records by 1344, but his descendants were living here later. The Bushbys were living at Leic. in the twelfth century. William de Buscebi entered the gild in 1209 and Richard de Busseby, presumably his son, about 1249. Members of the family were later settled at Barkby and Humberstone. There are numerous references to them in the early De Banco Rolls.
