1454 THOMAS DALTON (3)

1454,1455, 1456 THOMAS DALTON.

(101)

Called William in error in Miss Bateson's list. He was the son of Thomas Dalton, sen., of Leic. and obviously a man of some note for he filled the civic chair for three successive years. In July 1455, during his first year of office he was returned to the Parliament at Westminster as one of the borough representatives. Presumably he was a wool merchant of the staple of Calais. His name disappears from the municipal records before 1470, but members of the family were living at Leic. many years later.
