A prominent burgess whose parentage and ancestry, however, is unknown. He was born about 1460, made free of the borough 1483-4, was bailiff in 1498, again in 1515 and for a few years later, and M.P. for Leic. in 1504. He either died or left Leic. about the year 1525 at which date his name disappears from the municipal records. The mansion house and grounds formerly occupied by him near the Blackfriars monastery was leased by the master and brethren in 1538 to Thomas Katlyn of Leic.
