Parentage unknown. He appears to have settled in St. Nicholas' parish about 1500, probably resided in the Shambles, now St. Nicholas Street, as a butcher and grazier. In 1507 he was party to a fine re a messuage and twenty,four acres of land at Thurcaston, co. Leic. After filling various offices he was chosen, during his mayoralty, as one of the burgesses to represent the borough in Parliament. He was again mayor in 1534 ; died in 1543 and was buried at St. Nicholas'. Will, dated 16 May 1543, was proved at Leic. the same year.
