Probably a son of John Barton of Leic., baker, 1492; was born about 1495, admitted a freeman 1526-7, one of the stewards of the fairs 1530-1 and later one of the auditors. He married Agnes, daughter of AId. Wm. Tebbe of Leic. (No. 152), by whom he had issue, and dying in 1540 was buried at St. Margaret's. Will, dated 12 August 1540, was proved in the P.C.C., London, 31 March 1541, his two brothers, Sir William Barton (priest) and Thomas Barton, being mentioned therein.
