1562 WILLIAM REYNOLD

1562 WILLIAM REYNOLD.

(177)

Eldest son of AId. Nicholas Reynold, thrice mayor of Leic. (No. 153) ; born 1518, enrolled a freeman during his father's second mayoralty 1539-40 as "primus filius Nich's Reynold," was elected a chamberlain 1547, and one of the borough bailiffs in 1564. His name appears in a list of the aldermen for September 1566 but not later. He either died or removed from Leic. about that date, no record of his death or burial nor trace of his will having been found.

"Anno 1562-3. On the 16th January, a great tempest of wind and thunder happened in the town of Leicester, which uncovered 411 bayes of houses and overturned many." (Stow's Chronicle, quoted by Nichols).
