Believed to have been a son or grandson of Thomas Hind of Leic., vintner, 1520, and born about 1540; admitted a freeman 1564~5, elected a chamberlain 1572 and a coroner in 1584. During his year of office the town debt stood at £925 10s. 0d. What is it to~day, 1935? AId. John Hind had issue by his wife, Agnes Tatam? Some of his descendants were later living at Swithland, Quorndon and Loughborough. He died, according to the Hall Book, in 1595, and was buried at St. Margaret's 23 June. Will, dated 19 May 1595, was proved in the Prebendal Court of St. Margaret's 22 August following.
