1606   LEBBEUS CHAMBERLAIN, (Woollen Draper).

Perhaps a son of Wm. Chamberlain of Leic. 1560; was born about 1543, admitted a freeman 1564~5, elected a chamberlain 1579 and an alderman 1595. He married at St. Martin's 19 January 1569 Joane Weacocke?, by whom he had issue. During his mayoralty he took part in the insurrection respecting the inclosure of lands, for which he was placed under arrest and confined in his house for a time. He died two years later and was buried at St. Martin's 26 November 1609. His will, bearing date 23 November 1609, was proved at Leic. 19 February 1609~1O.
