1623   JAMES ELLIS, (Draper).

Described in the borough records as James Ellis the

younger, being a nephew of AId. James Ellis, mayor in 1586. He was probably born at Mawham, Y orks.; was enrolled a freeman as the late apprentice of James Ellis (his uncle) in 1601~2, resided in Parchment Lane now Bond Street and was churchwarden of St. Martin's in 1609~1O where he was buried 20 June 1630. He does not appear to have left any issue. Will, dated 16 May 1628, was proved in the P.C.C., London, 27 July 1630, copy filed at Leic. in 1635.
