1635 RALPH TOMPSON, (Butcher).

(229)

Eldest son of John Tompson of Leic.; was born about 1579, admitted a freeman 1600~1, joined the corporation soon afterwards. In 1620 he was one of the chamber~ lains and became an alderman in 1623. He married and left issue.

It is not improbable that AId. Tompson was one of the unfortunate victims of the Siege of Leic., for his burial is recorded at St. Nicholas' 1 June 1645, the day following the storming and sacking of the town. His will, made 14 November 1642, a long and interesting record, was proved in the P.C.C., London, 17 November 1645.
