Son and heir of AId. Wm. Norrice, mayor in 1567, by his second wife, Hellen Yate, and a cousin of John Norrice, mayor in 1631. He was baptized at All Saints' 27 September 1584, enrolled a free burgess 1608~9, a chamberlain in 1637 and an alderman 1641. He married Mary, daughter of Wm. Whalley of Norton by Galby, co. Leic., with whom he lived "three score years and upwards" (All Saints' register) and by her, who died in 1670, he had issue.
AId. John Norrice "in regard of his negligence in not appearinge att the Hall nor doinge service in the cor~ poration for certain yeares last past" was dismissed 20 August 1655 (Hall Book). He was buried with his ancestors at All Saints' 13 December 1670, nine weeks after the decease of his wife. His will was proved at Leic. in 1670.
The last male representative of this old Leic. family, John Norrice, who died in 1700, left only one daughter.
