Parentage doubtful but believed to have been the eldest

son of Aid. William Ward of Leic., mercer, by his wife Elizabeth Morton. He was born about 1595, elected a member of the corporation about 1621, chamberlain 1627 and an alderman 1635 j married and at his death, 13 November 1674, left issue. He was buried at St. Martin's two days later. Will, dated 12 November 1674, was proved at Leic. the same year by his son and heir William.
