Son of Michael Blunt, yeoman, of Walton on the W olds, co. Leic., where he was born about 1586; admitted a freeman of Leic. in 1608~9 as a "yeoman" and a "stranger," but was later engaged as a woollen draper; elected a member of the forty~eight, 1620, chamberlain in 1626 and later an alderman. His elder brother, Rev. Edward Blunt, was for a time vicar of St. Margaret's, Leic., and later became rector of Walton on the W olds.
AId. Blunt was again elected mayor in September 1663, but died whilst serving in January 1663~4, appar~ ently without leaving issue. He was buried at St. Mar~ garet's 17 January 1663~4. Will proved in the Prebendal Court of St. Margaret's 22 April 1664.

AId. Thomas Blunt was elected mayor for the second time 21 September 1663 but died 15 January following (see No. 239). A few days later AId. Richard Palmer was chosen to fill the vacancy for the remainder of the term.
