1661 FRANCIS NOBLE, (Woollen Draper).

Fourth son of Thomas Noble, gent., of Rearsby, co. Leic., by Frances, his wife, daughter of AId. Robert Heyrick of Leic. He was born in 1612, admitted a free, man of Leic. 27 May 1633, elected a councillor 1635, mayor's chamberlain 1648, alderman 1653 and again mayor 1674; married and left issue, a daughter who became the wife of William Major of Leic.

Aid. Noble died 13 and was buried at St. Martin's 18 December 1689, aged 78. M.I. there. Will, dated 28 October 1685, was proved at Leic. 22 January 1689,90.

The Nobles descended from William Noble of Thrus, sington, co. Leic., living in Elizabeth's reign, entered their Pedigree at the Visitation of co. Leic. 1619 and recorded their Arms :-Quarterly-l. Argent, on a chief gules a lion passant guardant or. 2. Barry of six argent and sable, on a canton gules, a crescent or. 3. Argent, on a bend sable five bezants. 4. Gules, a chevron ermine between three eagles displayed or. Crest :-An eagle displayed or. (See Plate 4 for first quarter only).
