1673   ROBERT HARTSHORNE, (Maltster and Miller).

(259)

Eldest son of George Hartshorne of Leic., miller, by his

wife Anne, daughter of AId. Hugh Hunter. He was baptized at St. Mary's 2 September 1621, admitted a freeman 1652~3, a chamberlain 1660 and an alderman 1664 ; married at St. Mary's 18 February 1657~8 Anne, daughter of Paul Abney of Leic., but does not appear to have had any issue.

AId. Robert Hartshorne was buried at St. Margaret's 29 March 1685. Will, dated 20 March 1684,5, was proved at Leic. shortly after his decease. In this record he describes himself as of the Bishop's Fee, and expresses the desire "to be decently and handsomely buried." He left his messuage near the South gate to his brother Thomas.
