1693   EDMUND JOHNSON, (Dyer).

Second son of AId. Edmund Johnson, mayor in 1653 ;

was born about 1648, admitted a free burgess 31 January 1673~4, an overseer of St. Mary's parish in 1682 and a churchwarden there 1698~9. He was an alderman in 1687 and in the following year signed the association pledge of adhersion to the cause of the Prince of Orange. By Elizabeth his wife, who died in 1737 he had several sons and daughters (vide St. Mary's registers).

AId. Johnson died at his residence adjoining the West bridge and was buried at St. Mary's 21 April 1699. Will proved at Leic.
