1703   RICHARD WESTON, (Mercer).

Descended from the Westons of Button Overy, co. Leic.; was born in 1661, apprenticed to John Burdett of Leic., mercer, admitted a freeman 13 March 1684,5, elected a chamberlain 1691, an alderman 26 June 1696 and served as a churchwarden of St. Martin's in 1695. He married at Evington 5 February 1698, Mary Scampton, by whom he had several children. His wife died 13 December 1723, aged forty,seven. M.I., now covered, under the chancel floor at St. Martin's.

AId. Weston was buried at St. Martin's 22 January 1712,3, aged fifty,one. Will, dated 28 October 1712, was proved at Leic. 13 February following.
