Son of AId. Thomas Hartshorne of Leic. and a nephew of AId. Robert Hartshorne, mayor in 1673 ; born 1665, served his apprenticeship with William Atkin of Leic., bookseller, enrolled a freeman 26 September 1686, was one of the forty,eight in 1687, chamberlain in 1692 and elected an alderman 4 November 1697. He was a church, warden of St. Martin's 1696 ; died in 1708, aged forty, two, leaving issue, buried at St. Martin's 12 September. Will, dated 14 July 1708, was proved at Leic. 26 October following. Some of his descendants were living here a century later.
