1712   JOHN COOPER, (Ironmonger).

Son of John Cooper of Leic., apothecary; baptized at St. Mary's 17 September 1669, admitted a freeman 1 September 1695, elected a member of the company of the forty~eight councillors 26 June 1696, an alderman 24 September 1697, was a churchwarden of St. Martin's 1707 ; married twice and had issue.

AId. Cooper was buried at St. Martin's 9 May 1740, near the remains of his second wife and his infant children, aged sixty~eight. His will, dated 17 June 1738, was proved at Leic. 1 December 1740 by his son~in~law, Samuel Heyrick and Elizabeth his wife, the executors.
