1715   FRANCIS LEWIN, (Butcher and Grazier).

Probably a son of William Lewin of Leic., butcher, living 1653 ; was born in 1651, apprenticed to Clement Biggs of Leic., butcher, admitted a freeman 19 March 1678, elected a councillor 1694, chamberlain 1701 and an alderman 24 September 1707. He resided in Silver Street where he had freehold property in 1719, was a churchwarden of his parish, St. Martin's, in 1707; married there 19 October 1684 Mary Revis and by her had issue.

AId. Lewin was buried at St. Martin's 2 June 1725, aged seventy,four. Will, dated 24 December 1723, was proved at Leic. 17 Dec. 1725 by his son William Lewin, the residuary legatee and sole executor.
