Son and heir of George Bent of Leic., and grandson of AId. George Bent, mayor in 1681 ; was born about 1688, made a free burgess 24 September 1707, a councillor 1712, chamberlain 1721 and an alderman in 1726. He died unmarried 20 and was buried at St. Martin's 24 May 1736, aged forty~eight. M.I. Will, dated 29 February 1731~2 with a codicil 15 May 1736, was proved at Leic. 2 September 1736 by Alice Bent, his mother and executrix. He left property in Church Gate to St. John and Bent's hospital.
