Eldest son of Joseph Hall of Leic., barber, born about

1709, enrolled a freeman 2 September 1730, elected a councillor 1737, chamberlain 1743, alderman 1754 and churchwarden of St. Martin's 1745. According to the registers of that parish he had eleven children. He was discharged from the corporation on his own petition in 1762 and appears to have later held the office of mace bearer.
