1761 SAMUEL BROWN, (Maltster).

A member of an old Leic. family being the eldest son of Samuel Brown of Leic., whitesmith; was born about 1712, made free 12 June 1733, one of the forty,eight, 1738, a chamberlain 1747 and an alderman 1758, re, sided in Highcross Street 1775 ; married twice but left no issue. Descendants of his brothers still living.

Mr. AId. Brown died 10, and was buried at St. Martin's 13 June 1784, aged seventy,two. M.L in the church,yard

to him and his second wife, Mary, who died in 1785. Will, dated 5 June 1780, was proved at Leic. 18 October 1784 by Mary Brown, his widow and executrix.
