1764 RICHARD BEALE, (Draper and Clothier).

The Beales, an old Ashby Parva family, were living there at the latter part of Elizabeth's reign. AId. Richard Beale was born there in 1718, being a son of Joseph Beale, yeoman, of that parish. He was apprenticed in February 1734~5 to AId. Wm. Brushfield, mercer and grocer, who was mayor in 1736, took up his freedom 23 April 1742, chosen one of the forty~eight the same year, chamberlain 1748 and an alderman in 1760. In 1741 he voted at the county election for freehold property at Ashby Parva. He resided chiefly in the Market Place, where he carried on a drapery and clothing business; married and left issue.

Mr. AId. Beale died 25 and was buried at St. Martin's 28 January 1772, aged fifty~four. M.I. to him and his wife there. His will, dated 12 January 1771, was proved at Leic. 10 February 1772.
