1776   SAMUEL JORDAN, (Grazier).

Parentage unknown but believed to have been a member of the Jordans of Ratby, co. Leic. He was born about the year 1722, admitted free as a "stranger" 25 March 1755, joined the corporation about 1756, later made an alderman, married and left issue. He died 30 November and was buried in St. Martin's churchyard 3 December 1779, aged fifty~seven. M.I. there to him and his wife. Will, dated 13 August 1779, was proved at Leic. 26 January 1780 by Wm. Jordan, his son and executor.
