1794      BENJAMIN GREGORY, (Grocer).

Son of Mansfield Gregory of Scraptoft, co. Leic., and

descended from the Gregorys of Glen Parva; was born 1737, made free of the borough 7 March 1775 as a "stranger" and shortly afterwards became a member of the corporate body. By his wife, Elizabeth (--), who survived him until 1828, he had several sons and daughters. One of his sons, Mansfield Gregory, was mayor in 1827.

AId. Benjamin Gregory died 4 and was buried in St.

Margaret's churchyard 6 July 1810, aged seventy-three. M.I. there to him and his wife.
