1809 WILLIAM FIRMADGE, (Architect and Surveyor).

Son of William and Ann Firmadge of Leic. and descended from a family long seated at Redmile in this county. He was born 14 November and baptized at St. Martin's 29 December 1755, admitted a freeman 28 September 1778, joining the corporation a few years later. His first wife, Ann, by whom he had several children was buried at Scraptoft, co. Leic., in 1793. M.1. He married secondly at St. Margaret's 5 March 1795 Susanna Nedham, by whom, who died in 1841, he had an only daughter, Elizabeth, who married Sheldon Cradock of Leic.

Mr. Firmadge was an architect and surveyor of some repute. He died at Leic. 27 March 1836, aged eighty, and was interred in the family vault at Scraptoft. M.1. and memorial window to him and to his wife Susanna, there.
