Parentage and ancestry not established. He was born about 1766, purchased the freedom of the borough 10 September 1793, was a joint chamberlain 1800 and later raised to the aldermanic bench. By Elizabeth his wife, who died in 1829, he had two sons. Mr. AId. Miller retired with the old corporation in 1835. He died 26 March 1849, aged eighty-three, and his remains were laid to rest at St. Margaret's. Mural tablet in the church to him and to his wife.
