Eldest son of George and Ann Ireland and a member of an old Leic. family ; was baptized at St. Margaret's 25 July 1773, enrolled a freeman 13 August 1795, elected a councillor 1802 and one of the borough chamberlains in 1805 ; married at St. Martin's 24 April 1798 Priscilla Elizabeth Miller, she died 1839, by whom he had several sons and daughters (vide St. Martin's registers).
AId. Ireland died, presumably at his residence in Belgrave Gate, 23 and was buried in St. Martin's church, yard 31 December 1826, aged: fifty-three. M.l. there to him and his wife.
