1822, 1833 THOMAS COOK, (Glover and Breeches, maker).

Eldest son of James Cook of Leic., glover, born 6 and baptized at St. Martin's 10 May 1774, admitted a freeman 8 January 1796, later became a member of the forty, eight councillors and was elected a joint chamberlain in 1807 ; married and left issue. As stated above he was a glover and breeches, maker. It is on record that during his mayoralty a very good display of boxing gloves was to be seen in the window of his shop in Gallowtree Gate.

Mr. Thos. Cook, who was again mayor in 1833, retired with the other aldermen of the old corporate body in 1835. His death took place about 1845.
