Eldest son of AId. Benjamin Gregory, mayor in 1794. Born 20 and baptized at St. Margaret's 24 May 1778, admitted a freeman 29 November 1800, elected a member of the council of forty-eight, 1810, joint chamberlain in 1811, later an alderman and a magistrate. He married at St. Martin's 19 November 1810 Fanny Ford and by her, who died in 1820, had issue.
Mr. Gregory retired with the old corporation in 1835.
He died at his residence, Princess Street, 24 April 1850, aged seventy-two, and was interred in the western portion of St. Martin's churchyard behind the Guildhall, where an upright stone in memory of him and his wife remains.
