Housing Benefit

Housing Benefit
Further evidence about the distribution of poverty is supplied by this map. It shows the variation across the City in the number of people claiming both Housing/Council Tax Benefit and Income Support.

The data was extracted in June 1995 and is based on a count of claimants per postcode.

As with some of the previous indicators, the areas with the highest concentations coincide with certain council housing areas. In this example, it is the inner area estates such as St. Marks and St. Peters that have the highest values, although Beaumont Leys and North Braunstone stand out too.
