Leicester City Council is the unitary authority serving the people, communities and businesses of Leicester, the biggest city in the East Midlands.
On Thursday 5th May 2011, Leicester residents voted in Peter Soulsby as our new city mayor, who'll lead the city for four years.
He appointed Rory Palmer as his deputy, and the following councillors as assistant city mayor:

- Vi Dempster
- Dr Rita Patel
- Sarah Russell
- Manjula Sood.
With 54 councillors and over 15,000 staff, we're responsible for delivering services to a diverse range of customers across Leicester.
