Assistive Technology

Assistive technology can be a piece of equipment or a service that can  enable a range of different people to remain independent and safe in their own homes, by helping them to manage risks and /or make day to day tasks easier including those with:

  • learning disabilities or cognitive impairments

  • physical disabilities
  • at risk of falling
  • sensory impairments
  • mental health needs
  • requiring rehabilitation or intermediate are services

Assistive Technology is provided by Leicester City Council following an eligibility assessment by Adult Social Care.

If you do not meet the eligibility criteria, most of the equipment can be purchased privately from web sites, choose your support web site or in some cases local retailers.
