Premises Licence

A Premises Licence is required for the following activities:
  • the sale or supply of alcohol
  • the provision of regulated entertainment
  • the provision of late night refreshment

All of these activities are defined in the Licensing Act 2003. They are also described in the City Council's Licensing Policy. Both documents can be accessed from the Licensing Policy section of this website.

Applicants are strongly advised to consult 'Guidance on Completing an Operating Schedule' before completing their application form. This, and advice on how to apply, can be accessed from the Guidance section of this website.

Applicants for licences involving the sale or supply of alcohol should also look at the Personal Licences page of this website.

Application forms for premises licences can be downloaded from the Application Forms page of this website.
