The following websites provide useful information on specific health and safety related issues: 

 

  • The Smokefree England website provides up-to-date information about the smokefree legislation which came into force on 1st July 2007.
  • Advance Seating Designs website provides information about office furniture and equipment.
  • Backcare is a UK Charity which helps people manage and prevent back pain by providing advice, promoting self help, encouraging debate and funding scientific research into better back care.
  • The health section of the BBC website gives some general advice to back pain sufferers.
  • The British Safety Council outlines why it is good business to develop an excellent health and safety reputation.
  • Directgov provides Government advice for disabled people.

 

 

  • The Suzy Lamplugh Trust is the national charity for personal safety. It aims to create a safer society and enable people to live safer lives, providing practical personal safety advice for everyone, everyday, everywhere.
  • The TUC Health and Safety website provides links to numerous research and conference documents in addition to the normal materials, and has an additional fund of recent cases and claims information.
