Thank you to everyone who had their say in our recent Leicester Market Improvements Consultation, which is now closed.
In the coming months, we will publish a report compiling your responses, which will help inform councillors making decisions on the future of Leicester Market Improvements .
Why did this?
There are a number of possible options for investment and improvements at Leicester Market.
These options include the demolition of the existing indoor market and the relocation of the current fish, meat and cheese market.
Before embarking on any such proposal, we wanted to understand the views and opinions of Leicester people.
We consulted shoppers, traders and nearby retailers and property owners.
We also hoped to get the views of people who do not currently use the market to better understand what improvements might encourage them to do so in the future.
How we consulted
We consulted by online questionnaire between Monday 17th October and Sunday 6th November 2011.
We also had public sessions in the city centre and at Leicester Market on the following dates.
What happens next?
The results of the consultation will be published online in upcoming months.
The views collected will help inform decisions about what direction future improvements at Leicester Market should take.
