Every Child Matters is the government's vision for improving services to all children and young people in order to make a positive difference in their lives.  As a result, services are required to work together in a more joined-up way and to place the needs of children and young people at the centre of their planning.

LCYPSP is a multi-agency partnership made up of Chief Officers of services for children and young people in Leicester.  It has the overall responsibility for putting Every Child Matters into practice in the City.  The Partnership sets the priorities and strategic direction for the development of services for Leicester's children and young people from pre-birth to age 19 (and up to age 25 for some vulnerable young people) in order to improve their lives.

The Joint Commissioning Board (JCB) and the Every Child Matters Thematic groups are partnerships that sit below and support LCYPSP in delivering the local priorities.

  • Local Area Agreement (LAA)
  • Common Assessment Framework (CAF) and Information Sharing
