The easiest way to pay for many of our services is to do it online. It's fast and secure and we accept most credit and debit cards.

Pay by telephone

You can now pay for the following Council Services, 24 hours a day - 7 days a week, using our secure automated telephone payments facility: 

  • Council Tax
  • Business Rates (NNDR)
  • Housing (or Garage) Rents
  • Customer Accounts Invoices
  • Car Parking Fines
  • Bus Lane Enforcement Penalty Charge Notice
  • Benefits Overpayments  

Call 0116 454 1012 and follow the instructions.

Please ensure that you speak slowly and concisely. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Switch or Maestro cards and won't charge you a processing fee. Just have your card details and relevant account number from your bill ready when you call.

Your payment will be credited to your account usually within one working day. There is no charge or minimum payment required for debit or credit card payments.

You will soon be able to pay for some council services using the mobile app PingIt. To pay via PingIt, download the app to your smartphone or tablet and follow the set-up instructions.
