Ward community meetings are being introduced by the City Council from April 2008, replacing the old area committees. Meetings will take place in the main at quarterly intervals, bringing the Council closer to communities in the 22 wards that cover Leicester. They will give residents the opportunity to work with Council departments and other agencies, such as the Police and Primary Care Trust, to identify local issues and improve their neighbourhoods.

 

The first round of meetings will take place between April and June. They will provide information about local services and start to highlight local priorities. Local residents are very welcome to turn up and talk to councillors and officers about anything that's affecting their ward.

 

We are in the process of updating this website to reflect the change and let people know when and where meetings will take place, how they can get involved and how they can give us their views even if they can't get to meetings.
