Forward Plan

The Council's Forward Plan is a document which is prepared and updated monthly to show all the key decisions, which are currently known about, that are intended to be taken by the Council's Cabinet over the forthcoming four months. Each plan runs from the first of each month. A notice is published each year in the local media outlining when each plan is to be published.

The statutory defininition of a key decision is as follows:-

(a)- A decision which is likely to result in the Council spending, or making of savings of an amount which is regarded as being 'significant'in terms of the Council's budget for the service or function to which the decision relates; or

(b)- A decision which is likely to be significant in terms of its effects on communities living or working in an area comprising 1 or more Wards in the City.

'Significant' as detailed in (a) above is defined by Leicester City Council as:-

- in the case of revenue monies, the expenditure / savings are outside the approved revenue budget and are £250,000 or more.
- in the case of capital monies, the capital expenditure / savings are £1,000,000 or more.
