Regulatory Committees
There are a number of ‘regulatory’ type committees. The mains ones are
Planning and Development Control Committee (largely planning applications)
Licensing Committee (comments on licensing policies)
Licensing Enforcement Sub-Committee (licensing applications hearings mainly taxis)

Hearings under the Licensing Act 2003
Development Control Committee meets about every 2-3 weeks in public and its main role is to determine planning applications that need a decision by Councillors.
Licensing Committee meets infrequently and its main role is to recommend licensing policies, although it can hear licensing applications if necessary.
The Licensing Enforcement Sub-Committee deals with hearings for licences, largely taxis, private hire, street trading or collection, door-to-door collection, Amusement With Prizes machines and firewwork storage licences. Some parts of the meetings may be in private because of the nature of the business.
Hearings under the Licenisng Act 2003 deal with applications for personal and premises licences for the sale of alcohol, late night refreshments, entertainment etc.
