Check if you've registered to vote

The electoral register contains details of everyone who is registered to vote in elections.

Versions of the register

There are two versions of the register: the electoral register and the open register.

The electoral register lists everyone who is entitled to vote. The law restricts who can access this and what the information can be used for. Examples include for crime prevention and credit checking.

The open register is an extract of the electoral register, but it is not used for elections. It can be bought by anyone, and used for any purpose, such as marketing.

Your name and address will be included on the open register unless you ask for them to be removed. If you want to be removed from the open register, you can download the form at the bottom of the page and return it to us.

You can also see the electoral register at Bishop Street Central Library.
