Key Stage 1, English
This game is based on 'noughts and crosses'. The difference is that to play the game you have to answer 'spelling' questions - make sure your speakers are switched on so you can hear the words being spoken! Once you have entered your name and pressed the enter/return key, click on the 'help' button to find out how to play the game.

Teacher Notes
This fun activity can be used to develop and assess pupils' spelling abilities. Once the pupil has entered their name a 'help' screen gives full instructions on how to use the activity. This activity uses sounds and it is essential that this facility is enabled on your PC.

There are four sets of words based on 'ch', 'sh', 'oo' and 'th' digraphs. A random version draws from all four sets of words.

The activity is based on a 'noughts and crosses' game with the aim being to complete either a horizontal, vertical or diagonal line. Clicking on a square triggers the spoken word and the pupil then has to type the correct spelling.
