Swim Leicester swimming lessons
We offer swimming lessons for both children and adults as part of our Swim Leicester programme. Lessons are available every day across our leisure centres.
Being confident in and around water is useful for both children and adults. Swimming lessons can help overcome fear and nervousness around water, and help you to become more active. Our lessons are taught by friendly and experienced instructors in welcoming and safe environments.
Lessons are held at each of our seven leisure centres, on every day of the week. We offer children's lessons from foundation level (typically for children six months to four years old), through the ASA national framework and beyond.
All children enrolled in our Swim Leicester school get free swimming during public swim sessions. Please check the timetable at your local leisure centre for more information.
Adult lessons are available whatever your ability and swimming experience. We operate continuous assessment for everyone, which means that you can progress at your own pace.
You can join Swim Leicester at any time. We run the programme for 50 weeks of the year, with a two-week break over Christmas.
- Lessons start from £4.50 per half hour.
- You can pay for ten lessons up front (£45), or set up a direct debit of £18.75 per month.
- If you choose to pay by direct debit, you will also receive four free family swim passes, which can be used across our leisure centres (except for Leicester Leys leisure centre).

If your goal is to improve your fitness or lose weight, we offer SwimFit and SwimFit gym sessions.
SwimFit sessions are for more confident swimmers and mainly focus on fitness, stamina and stroke work. An ASA SwimFit-qualified instructor will take you through different drills and provide advice on technique while you swim.
SwimFit gym sessions are water-based circuit sessions. As water provides more natural resistance than air, exercising in a pool can increase the benefits of fitness sessions.
