Prince Charles visits Narborough Road in Leicester
Prince Charles visited Narborough Road in Leicester on 25 January to meet local traders and see the community hub at Westcotes Library.
In 2016, Narborough Road was named the most multi-cultural street in the UK following research by the London School of Economics. Subsequently dubbed "a United Nations of shopkeepers", the popular high street features more than 200 shops and represents at least 23 nationalities.
Shopkeepers hail from countries including Tanzania, Turkey, Uganda, Zambia, Iran, Poland, India, Malawi and Kurdistan and 79 per cent of proprietors speak two languages, while 63 per cent speak three or more.
Prince Charles's visit to the county also included a visit to St Philip's Church in Evington and the City of Leicester College.
