Week of advice to help prepare for emergencies

Published on 10 October 2016

ADVICE for residents, businesses and groups on how they can make sure they are ready to react to emergencies is being made available as part of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Prepared Week.

Running from October 10 to 14, the week will focus on how people can prepare for a range of emergencies, from flooding to power cuts and evacuations. It will also look at how individuals and communities can improve their preparedness for winter and flu epidemics.

An online resource pack - Emergency Planning - It's Everybody's Business - has been launched today. It contains quizzes, video clips and ideas for group activities to help people with their planning.

The week has been organised by the Local Resilience Forum which is made up of representatives from the emergency services, councils, health services and other organisations.
