Writers showcase work at Central Library

Published on 13 January 2017

FREE events are being held at Leicester’s Central Library to offer local writers the chance to showcase their work to new audiences.

The events, which are open to everyone, kick off with Welcome to Leicester, an anthology of poetry celebrating the city, with readings from contributing poets.

The poems have been collected into a book of the same name, edited by Emma Lee and Ambrose Musiyiwa. Emma will compère the event.

It takes place on Wednesday 18 January from 6.30pm.

It’s the beginning of a winter season of events, with further activities planned for February and March.

On Wednesday 15 February, the theme will be ‘Lost and Found’, featuring stories of home by Leicestershire writers.

On 15 March, the focus of the evening will be ‘The Declamations of Cool Eye’ a new poetry collection by Carol Leeming.

Booking is advised – to book, call the Central Library on 0116 299 5401.
