Belgrave Food and Garden Festival comes to hall

THE finest in local food and drink will take centre stage at this year’s Belgrave Food and Garden Festival.

Belgrave Hall and Gardens will host the mouth-watering two-day event on Saturday, September 30 and Sunday, October 1, from 11am to 4pm.

Visitors will be able to savour organic foods, drinks, preserves, cakes and snacks from a range of top-notch local producers, restaurants and sellers.

This year’s event has also been expanded to include garden-related products for sale in the hall’s beautiful historic gardens. 

Food producers represented at the event will include Brockleby’s, Lilac Cottage Jams and organic food firm Riverford among many others. 

Notable local restaurants attending will include the White Horse in Birstall and Mirch Masala.

Entry costs £2.50 for adults, and is free for children. Free parking is also available at Jelson’s on Loughborough Road, a few minutes walk from Belgrave Hall and Gardens.

Leicester assistant city mayor for culture, leisure and sport, Cllr Piara Singh Clair, said: “Belgrave Hall’s annual food and drink event has been a firm favourite for a number of years, and this year’s event has expanded to include garden products too.

“It will be a wonderful way to sample the very best in food and drink, showcasing both local flavours and tastes from further afield, all in the enchanting surroundings of this historic hall and gardens.”
