Hamilton District Centre comprises mixed-use facilities including a superstore with petrol station; small shop units/retail outlets; community facility; and a grassed public open space. Tesco Stores Ltd. is the major developer of the District Centre and in recognition of the communities they serve they have incorporated a greenway, pedestrian and cycle route through the district centre as well as supporting the commissioning of artworks through percent for art.

"The Inspiration for the works came from the history of the site, local legend and Roman archaeological remains found on site. The intention is to create a distinctive Gateway and Entrance to this new Eastern Suburb of Leicester."
Jonathan Fairfax
